Brandy’s a real sweetheart, and it isn’t really due to anything we’ve done. Brandy is eager to please, social, and loves children. I am from a family of nine, and have 5 children of my own. She is consistently exposed to my parents (and their dog), my siblings (and their dogs, cats, and children), and she loves to go walking around Lowes, Home depot, and pet stores. She loves to “camp out” on our living room floor with my kiddos, their friends, and a pile of sleeping bags. A few of the kids go home missing a sock or two… ???? Brandy enjoys hiking in the Adirondacks and has reached quite a few of the mountain summits. Walks and car rides are a definite favorite. She frequently goes to school with me (I’m the school nurse) and is a favorite with my students. She does have a protective streak and barks when someone comes to the door, but quickly greets them with a “kiss”. I can take Brandy pretty much anywhere and she’s well behaved. Once in a while, when we’re out for walks she may bark at other dogs, but it’s only if the other dog is aggressive. Every morning Brandy sits on my husband’s lap while we have coffee and each night tries to sneak in bed with us, but with one command goes back to her own (on the floor by my husband, I might add). She does know sit, stay, and down. She is 95 % consistent with “come”, but that can be tricky with so much foot traffic (kids) in our home. With so many kids around, she has learned how to give “high five”. LOL. Brandy is great with the groomer and is excellent in the Vet’s office, even with different dog breeds. I have to say, it’s definitely her good nature, and not anything we’ve done to make her great. Our household is crazy busy, but she is easygoing, goes with the flow and loves on our kids. Brandy loves to cheer the kids on at soccer games and enjoys a good game of tennis ball fetch. She can swim like a fish and doesn’t mind a good canoe ride. Our family is so blessed to have her!
